Proclaimed a national park in 1898, this ‘island in the sky’ is renowned for its magnificent granite tors, spectacular valley views, waterfalls, bushwalking and adventure pursuits including rock climbing and abseiling. Mt Buffalo and its chalet, a classic mountain lodge, was the original cradle of tourism in the region. Mt Buffalo Gorge is simply breathtaking, with a sea of clouds often seen all the way to Mt Bogong and Mt Kosciusko in the distance.
Winter, Summer, Autumn or Spring , Mt Buffalo is a wonderful destination to enjoy the beauty of mother nature. In summer, the cooler mountain air makes it a pleasure to be active, while in winter the snow transforms the plateau into a winter wonderland. The spring snow melt showcases the incredible array of waterfalls and autumn is a bushwalkers favourite, with cool crisp mornings and beautiful clear sky days.
