Beechworth Primary School, built in 1875, consists of a central heritage building classified by the National Trust, with the addition of relocatable rooms. The school is centrally located in the historic gold mining town of Beechworth, North East Victoria.
The school has a current enrolment of 185 students. The students are drawn from the town and the surrounding rural area. Eight classes operate and these are mainly composite, spanning two years, in structure.
The school uses a range of teaching and learning strategies to ensure that we effectively engage our students in their learning. We have a Learning to Learn program during the first term of each year to help empower our students with strategies to become effective and motivated students. We have an excellent academic, social, emotional and physical record of program delivery for our families and students.
