The school is an approximate 4 hour drive from Melbourne, an hour from Albury-Wodonga to the North and 40+ minutes from the popular ski resort, Falls Creek.
Student population is around 160, drawn from the townships of Mt Beauty, Tawonga, Dederang, Bogong and Falls Creek.
The College provides a broad, comprehensive curriculum from years 7 to 12 within the following structure: •Year 7 - a standard, compulsory program
•Years 8-10 (Middle School) - vertical elective system with core English, Maths and PE
•Years 11 and 12 - VCE studies from unit levels 1 to 4
The College provides courses in each of the eight Key Learning Areas, i.e. Arts, English, Health and Physical Education, Science, LOTE (Indonesian), Mathematics, Technology, and Studies of Society and Environment. The College had the highest university placement of students of any government school in the Hume region for 2006, 2009, 2010 and 2011.
The College is particularly proud of its extra-curricular activities -
Music - the school has an active instrumental music and band program. Instrumental tuition is available to all students, with band practices at lunchtimes or after school.
Skiing - in term 3 all students may participate in five days of alpine skiing or snowboarding at Falls Creek, leading up to ski championships later in the term. The school has been a consistent winner of many skiing awards and has produced seven Olympic representatives. The school provides a cross country hire service for visiting school groups.
CFA Youth Crew - 20 Year 9 and 10 students participate each year in a 10 day program aimed at completing the CFA minimal skills training and First Aid training. The program takes two years to complete and develops leadership skills in our students as well as providing the community with trained future CFA personnel.
